San Diego Fair 2013

We demoed for the San Diego Polymer Clay Guild, which we belong to, saturday June 15th in the Home and Hobby area.  We found our entries and results.  Together we got 3: 2nd place ribbons and 3: Honorable Mentions.  There were 1950 entries in Home and Hobby this year so we are proud of ribbons.  Sorry the pictures arent the greatest being the pieces are behind glass and poorly lit.  But the fair does a great job in organizing all the entries in the space they have.

Spring 2013 Clay Projects

Well you will have to wait until after we visit the San Diego County Fair to see Yvette's projects so we cna take some pictures.  It was a hectic time for her with the fair deadlines, taking final for accounting class along with a final project, and getting the kiddos end of school stuff together.  But here are some projects I have done the Spring, i have a few projects in mind for summer and hope to be productive having the fridays off during our summer 4/10 schedule

This was a 2013 pay-it-forward gift Kasi did for Yvette.  It also inspired a Fairy Door Class for the San Diego Polymer Clay Guild's Round Robin
This was a bottle of hope created for the San Diego Polymer Clay Guild Monthly challenge: Big Foot, Spring, and Sparkle (he has bling in his belly button)

I up-cycled a tin can to make the fairy house box with polymer clay, needle felting and lots of "lost things".  I did enter this into the San Diego County Fair and received a 2nd place ribbon

This was Yvette's Round Robin Clay, a super fun class and project

Beauty Pageant Sashes

We were commissioned to make Hooter Girl Bikini Contest Sashes for 4 Southern California Restaurants.
Each one had a different theme.  At first we weren't too sure how to design them and exactly what we had agreed to do.  But together we pulled from each others strengths and made some beautiful sashes and rosette buttons to fasten them with.  Do you have an event you need sashes for we would love to do this project again?

Starting phase of the custom made rosette buttons.  With store name, year and Theme.  These were used to hold sashes together

Sandy Camp (Clay Camp) 2012

Wow the Rock N Roll 50's theme Sandy Camp was so much fun.  We are exhausted but it was worth it.  Had great times with new friends and got to know people better.  This year we were added to the committee and asked to organize the demos.  It was scary and challenging at first but you know us we are up to challenges.  From the feedback we got it seemed we did a great job and have been asked to do it again next year.  Didnt get that many projects done as we were facilitating things but perhaps next year we will know better how to handle things and can be more productive.  Anyway here are some great photos of us claying around.
